Target’s first two retail stores in Winnipeg will open up next spring.
The U.S.-based company announced Friday it would be converting two Zellers locations at Kildonan Place Shopping Centre and Southdale Centre into Target stores by March/April of 2013.
Brandon’s Shoppers Mall will also receive a Target.
The retail giant is spending $1.8 billion to acquire several Zellers locations from HBC to transform them. About 100 to 150 stores are expected to be bought and converted or sold by 2014.
In total, 59 Canadian locations are planned for Target, including in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario.
