Import offensive lineman Andre Douglas was re-signed to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Wednesday — exactly two weeks after becoming a free agent on February 15.
“We’re happy to have Andre back with us for another season,” said vice-president and GM Joe Mack in a release. “Continuity along the offensive line is key and this signing allows us to keep another piece of last year’s offensive line in tact.”
Douglas played in all 18 games last season and two playoff games and was named Winnipeg’s Most Outstanding Rookie in 2010.
The Blue Bombers have also signed import defensive lineman Andre Caroll. The New Jersey native attended training camp with the Blue Bombers last year but was cut and subsequently signed by the Cleveland Browns where he spent a portion of the team’s training camp.
