Two community open houses today will work to address residents’ concerns over parking congestion once the new football stadium finally opens this summer at the University of Manitoba.
Investors Group Field is scheduled to open on July 26, when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will play their first regular season game at home. A group of residents living in the Fort Richmond area have expressed concern over traffic, noise, available parking spots and congestion on residential streets.
The U of M is holding three open houses to discuss traffic and parking issues. The first will be between 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. today in University Centre. A second open house will take place this evening from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Dalhousie School.
A third open house will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Canad Inns Fort Garry.
