Two Winnipeggers to Receive Order of Military Merit

Two Winnipeg-based members of the Canadian military will be bestowed with an Order of Military Merit in Ottawa on Friday.

Warrant Officer Gordon Nichol and Master Warrant Officer Bryan Pierce will receive the honour during an investiture ceremony at Rideau Hall. Governor General David Johnston will preside over the ceremony, and bestow the honour on two Commanders, 9 Officers and 34 Members.

The Order of Military Merit was created in 1972 to recognize meritorious service and devotion to duty by members of the Canadian Forces.
