Icy conditions are believed to have contributed to a crash involving three semi-trailer trucks on the Perimeter Highway Saturday morning.

The crash happened north of McGillivray Boulevard at around 9 a.m. RCMP were rerouting traffic in the area as the scene was cleared.

Two people were sent to hospital with undetermined injuries, according to an RCMP spokesperson.

The Perimeter Highway in general was reported to be like a “skating rink,” according to witnesses. Drivers were advised to reduce their speeds and use caution as sanding trucks continue to work to improve traction.

Another report listed a crash involving a semi at the Perimeter and Lagiomodiere Boulevard.
