Team Manitoba is returning from the 2012 Special Olympics Canada National Winter Games in St. Albert, Alberta today with a hefty haul.
The team collected 16 gold medals, nine silver and 11 bronze during the four-day competition, which included 1,000 participants from 10 provinces and two territories. As of Friday, the team had collected 20 medals and achieved many personal bests.
Participants competed in snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, floor hockey, speed skating, curling and figure skating.
