RCMP are investigating the sudden death of a male youth in Alonsa, Manitoba.
The boy was found Tuesday morning outside of a residence and taken to hospital where he later died.
Officers from the Ste Rose du Lac detachment along with the RCMP Serious Crimes Unit are investigating. An autopsy is pending.
No further details were made available.
Alonsa is about 230 km northwest of Winnipeg.
UPDATE: Wednesday, March 7 — The deceased has been identified as a 16-year-old boy from the RM of Alonsa. No foul play is suspected, but police will continue to interview witnesses. A toxicology report is pending.
