Five students from the Asper School of Business will begin their five-day camp out at the University of Manitoba today.

5 Days for the Homeless will raise funds for Resource Assistance for Youth (RaY), a local Winnipeg organization that provides support and resources to homeless youth.

The fourth annual fundraiser will coincide with 26 universities also taking part nationwide.

Kate Armstrong, Maria Gluskin, Sam Holloway, Jaysa Nachtigall, and Jill Stevens will live outside on the University of Manitoba campus for five days and nights, while still fulfilling all duties as students. Their time in the “wild” will end on March 16.

On Monday, Mayor Sam Katz will visit the students outside of University Centre on the Fort Garry Campus at 9 a.m.
