The Bisons added another stack of stellar players from the local football scene, including a player from Brandon.

Oak Park’s OL/DL Michael Bell, St. Paul’s DB Connor Lesperance and DL Lucas Machado, Greendell Falcons’ DL Geoff Gray, Sturgeon Heights WR Zach Regert and Crocus Plains OL Sean Simpson are on board for the upcoming 2012 season.

The new recruits will be part of a team that plays their first-ever game at the new Investors Group Field stadium on the U of M’s Fort Garry campus. The Bisons will open their season by hosting Saskatchewan on Saturday, September 8 in a late afternoon game.

“This game is as big as they get. This marks probably the biggest milestone in the history of the Bison football program,” said head coach Brian Dobie. “We have waited almost 50 years to open a new stadium and as of now, only 180 days left and I can’t wait. It will be an incredibly surreal moment for many who have loved the University and been a big part of the Bison football program.”
