A Winnipeg-based film company will debut their latest release in one week from today during a segment on “The Nature of Things with David Suzuki.”

“Smarty Pants: Uncovering the Secret World of Plant Behaviour” is an HD exploration of the natural world, featuring global locations, spectacular cinematography, special effects and CGI, and new scientific discoveries to uncover this previously unknown world.

The film, produced by Merit Motion Pictures and Erna Buffie, follows University of Alberta scientist and ecologist JC Cahill, who leads a team of plant researchers on an eye-opening journey from the stunning heights of Utah’s Great Basin Desert to the rainforests of Canada’s west coast. Trekking this green world, the scientists reveal its remarkable, little-known secrets, both hiding in plain sight above and below ground.

“Smarty Pants” will air Thursday, March 22 at 8 p.m. CT on CBC.
