Manitoba RCMP have put out a warning to the public to stay off the Red and Assiniboine Rivers.
Record-breaking warm temperatures have made once frozen waterways unsafe. Police say travel on the river and ice fishing, especially in the Lockport area, is not advised.
Earlier this week, Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship advised anglers to remove their ice shacks from the river due to the quick melt.
