More than 350 high school students will explore career opportunities in the growing manufacturing industry today at the Winnipeg Convention Centre.
The day-long event will bring students together for the CME Career Discovery School Tours, and coincides with Manufacturing Week (March 19-23), celebrated by Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME).
Students will experience technologies in modern manufacturing through a hands-on approach that includes 3D design, 3D printing, reverse engineering and virtual welding, just to name a few.
Students from 12 high schools will also compete for more than $30,000 in scholarships and bursaries at the CME Discovery Program Final Competition.
More than 65,000 people are employed in manufacturing jobs across Manitoba.
