Winnipeg Blue Bombers head coach Paul LaPolice has signed a two-year extension with the football club.

LaPolice will enter his third season with the Blue Bombers in the coming months, after coming off a stellar 2011 season. LaPolice led the club to an East Division championship and an appearance in the 99th Grey Cup in Vancouver. LaPolice was also nominated for Coach of the Year.

“I’m thrilled to get this agreement done and remain the Head Coach for years to come,” LaPolice said. “I am very confident that we are a team on the rise and look forward to continued success. This is a great organization with an amazing fan base, and a great core of young players.”

Before taking the helm of the Bombers in January 2010, LaPolice spent the previous two seasons as offensive coordinator for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He won a Grey Cup in 2007 as the Roughriders’ receivers coach.
