Police Investigate Homicide on Dauphin River First Nation

RCMP are investigating a homicide of a woman on the Dauphin River First Nation.

Police say the woman was found unresponsive just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday. She was deceased at the scene and transported to Winnipeg, where an autopsy will be performed.

The woman’s name or age haven’t been released.

Gypsumville RCMP, along with the RCMP Serious Crimes Unit, Forensic Identification Unit and Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate.

UPDATE: Friday, March 23 — The woman has been identified as 23-year-old Leanne McLean of Dauphin River First Nation. The cause of McLean’s death has not been determined and no arrests have been made.
