The first Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame Game will be played Sunday, June 3 at Shaw Park.

On that night, the Winnipeg Goldeyes will honour its 2012 inductees, including former Goldeyes reliever Donnie Smith. Wayne Gullett (Wawanesa), John Lesyshyn (Dauphin), Bob Pardine (Binscarth) and Bill Nicholson (Transcona) will also go into the Hall of Fame as players. Alex Campbell (Brandon) and the late Ernie O’Dowda (Winnipeg) will go in as builders.

The Mutcheson family and the 1981 Manitoba Bisons 18- and 19-year-old team will be inducted into the special category, while the three teams that will be inducted include the 1986-90 Hamiota Red Sox, the 1983-88 Grosse Isle Blue Jays and the 1964-69 Rivers Comets.

Following the ceremony, the Goldeyes will play the Gary SouthShore RailCats.

Winnipeg will wear replica uniforms of the Hamiota Red Sox, which will later be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Winnipeg Goldeyes Field of Dreams Foundation and the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame.

The inductees will officially go into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame on June 2 during the induction ceremony in Morden. Tickets are available at mbhof.ca or by calling (204) 822-3646.
