Visiting Ryerson Professor to Deliver Human Rights Lectures

Author, ambassador and visiting professor Stephen Lewis will give a lecture on Wednesday at the University of Manitoba.

Lewis, a professor at Ryerson University in Toronto, is also the chair of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which is dedicated to turning the tide of HIV/AIDS in Africa.

Lewis will deliver a presentation called, “Global Issues, Local Impact,” at 6 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room inside University Centre on the U of M’s Fort Garry campus.

On Thursday, he’ll speak about global health at noon in the Frederic Gaspard Theatre at the Basic Medical Sciences Building on the U of M’s Bannatyne Campus.

Thursday evening, Lewis will be the keynote speaker at the Emerging Leaders Dinner 2012 that honours more than 75 University of Manitoba students who have either demonstrated their leadership abilities or their capacity to become leaders.
