Controlled burns of tall grass prairie remnants are set to take place beginning Friday throughout the city.
Crews with the City of Winnipeg will conduct the burns to preserve restoration of tall grass prairies and kill off weeds which endanger plant communities.
Weather permitting, the burns will begin on Friday, March 30 until Tuesday, May 1.
The city has been conducting controlled burns of tall grass prairies since 1986.
