The Winnipeg Goldeyes have signed infielders Matt Cusick and David Narowdowski for the upcoming 2012 season, along with outfielder Kyle Day.

Cusick, 25, has played five professional seasons and reached Triple-A in the New York Yankees system in 2010. He appeared in 29 games for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees of the International League that year, and last played in the Los Angeles Angels system at Double-A Arkansas in the Texas League.

“We are looking for Matt Cusick to come in and be our everyday second baseman,” manager Rick Forney said on Tuesday. “He has some Double-A experience and had a fantastic college career at USC. He could be one of the better second basemen that you could find in our league this year.”

Narodowski, 23, has played the last three seasons in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, while Day, 23, played five seasons in the Cincinnati Reds organization before being released last May.

The Goldeyes now have 18 players signed this season, including six pitchers and 12 position players.
