A new production at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre will showcase improvisation at its finest.
“Blind Date” stars its own creator, Rebecca Northan, as Mimi, a sexy Parisian temptress who waits for her blind date to show up. When he doesn’t, Mimi selects one fortunate man from the audience (a different one every night) to be her date instead. Heartwarming hilarity ensues as Mimi and her man embark on a spontaneous 90-minute adventure.
Northan is an experienced actor and improviser, and has appeared in leading roles in two television series (CTV’s “Alice, I Think” and Showcase’s “The Foundation”), and has guest hosted CBC’s “This Hour Has 22 Minutes.”
Tickets start at $19.95. For showtimes and ticket information, call the MTC Box Office at (204) 942-6537 or visit MTC.mb.ca. A limited number of $19 rush tickets are available beginning at noon on the day of performances for those under 30 (ID required, in-person only).
“Blind Date” will run April 5-21 at the Tom Hendry Warehouse.
