Waterfront Drive will close until mid-August beginning Monday between Higgins Avenue and Macdonald Avenue.
The city is closing the stretch of road to accommodate the construction of the new Disraeli Bridges. Besides the Waterfront closure, there will be no northbound left turns permitted from Gomez Street onto Higgins Avenue. Motorists are advised that the suggested alternate route between Higgins and downtown is Main Street.
The traffic signal at Higgins and Waterfront will remain active for signalized pedestrian crossing. The sidewalk on the east side of Waterfront will remain open. There will be no on-street parking on Waterfront between Higgins and MacDonald Avenue.
