Travel Channel has named Winnipeg’s James Richardson International Airport one of the world’s most iconic.
The article celebrates the airport’s design, created by renowned architect César Pelli, which is made up of bright, open spaces, including skylights, and large windows to welcome sunlight. It also mentions that the airport is Canada’s first to be LEED-certified for energy efficiency.
James Richardson International is one of 10 on the list, which also include new airports in Morocco, South Korea, Spain, and New Zealand, among others.
Winnipeg’s new airport officially opened on October 30, 2011.
