Siloam Mission Live-Tweeting Donation Drive on Thursday

Social media will be utilized to bring in food donations for one of Winnipeg’s busiest homeless shelters on Thursday.

ICUC Moderation Services is sponsoring the third annual Shop4Siloam charity event to help Siloam Mission put on a successful Easter dinner this weekend.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 5, volunteers will be collecting groceries and cash donations at the St. Anne’s Sobey’s location, 1939 Bishop Grandin Boulevard. @ICUC will be live tweeting the event, along with @SiloamMission under the hashtag #Shop4Siloam.

“We are so grateful for local, innovative companies like ICUC who can really take on the promotion of important causes such as this one, and help spread our message through years of experience in the social media space,” said Mike Duerksen, Siloam Mission’s communications coordinator.

For those who can’t donate in-person, they can do so securely online using PayPal by visiting Siloam’s donation page.

Shop4Siloam raised more than $1,600 in food and $700 in cash last year. Organizers are hoping to surpass those numbers this year.
