IKEA’s first Winnipeg store will open later this year, but the Swedish furniture giant is already assembling its management team.
IKEA announced Tuesday that Winnipeg native Stephen Bobko will be the store’s manager effective April 15. Bobko comes to IKEA with 12 years of senior retail management and leadership experience.
“Throughout his retail career, Stephen has demonstrated an ability to identify and develop talent, energize teams and build business strategies where the customer experience is a number one priority,” said Cory Randles, IKEA Canada’s human resources manager. “He brings with him a keen knowledge of the Winnipeg market and will be a fantastic asset to our team.”
IKEA’s 350,000-square-foot store will be located at Kenaston Boulevard and Sterling Lyon Parkway in the future Seasons of Tuxedo retail development.
