Doug Brown to Be Inducted into Blue Bomber Hall of Fame

April 11, 2012 12:08 PM | Sports

Recently-retired Winnipeg Blue Bomber defensive lineman Doug Brown will be inducted into the Blue Bomber Hall of Fame on June 18.

Brown will join former Winnipeg Football Club presidents Ken Matchett and Reg Low for the induction at the 2012 Legacy Dinner.

“It’s a tremendous honour to take a place amongst so many accomplished players and builders that have come through the years in the history of this program,” Brown said Wednesday while addressing media. “It’s overwhelming. You feel overwhelmed that you’re still part of the family, and you feel like you never did enough to give back with all of the accolades you receive on behalf of the club.”

“We are very excited to be inducting three very worthy members of our Blue Bomber family into the Hall of Fame,” said Blue Bomber president and CEO Garth Buchko. “Both Ken and Reg were excellent examples of how to successfully oversee the Winnipeg Football Club during their tenures as president, and Doug has just wrapped up a career in which he cemented himself as a true Canadian Football legend.”

Tickets to the dinner, being held at Canad Inns Polo Park, can be purchased by calling the Blue Bomber office at (204) 784-2583.
