Campsites reservations for Riding Mountain National Park are up 62% compared to last year after opening for the season on Tuesday.

Park officials say 20,115 camping nights were booked for Wasagaming Campground, which now includes the ability to rent out oTENTik tents.

The Park Reservation Service opened at 7 a.m. on Tuesday and reservations had surpassed the previous year’s record by just 10 a.m.

“We want to provide families the best opportunities to enjoy Riding Mountain National Park’s campgrounds and services,” said Richard Dupuis, visitor service manager for RMNP. “Our camping offer is some of the best and we want people to experience our park, so we make it easy through our reservation system”

Campsite reservations can be made at pccamping.ca or by calling 1-877-737-3783.
