Body of Missing Man Turns Up Near Lake Winnipeg

By Sarah Klein

The body of a man reported missing has turned up on the shores of Lake Winnipeg.

On Thursday, a civilian combing the area south of Beaconia Beach in the RM of St. Clements made the grisly discovery. RCMP identified the remains as a 22-year-old Winnipeg man, reported missing last fall.

An autopsy was completed on Friday, and foul play is not suspected.

Police have notified the man’s family, but will not be releasing his name.
