Winnipeg Blue Bombers import receiver Terrence Edwards has signed a contract extension with the team.
Edwards accounted for 66 receptions for 1,124 yards and eight touchdowns with the Blue and Gold last season, leading the team in receiving. Since signing with Winnipeg in 2007, the soon-to-be 33-year-old has recorded four 1,000 yard seasons and currently sits in sixth place on the Blue Bombers’ all-time receiving yardage list with 5,602 yards.
“Terrence has been one of our most consistent receivers since he came to Winnipeg and has great leadership qualities and work ethic that is looked up to by the rest of his teammates,” said vice-president and general manager Joe Mack. “He will continue to be a key component of our offence and we look forward to having him continue to mentor our young group of receivers.”
“As a team, we came so close to achieving our goal last season of bringing the Grey Cup home to the great fans in Winnipeg and I’m looking forward to coming back to pick up where we left off,” Edwards said in a release.
