Bear Spray Attack Uncovers Marijuana Grow-Op

RCMP stumbled upon a marijuana grow operation Sunday after an altercation at a Wawanesa bar.

Police were called to the bar shortly after 12:30 a.m. after three men were bear sprayed inside the bar. The victims were not seriously injured.

Police located the two male suspects involved in the attack, and came across a marijuana grow operation in the home a 21-year-old Wawanesa man. A search warrant was later executed, where several marijuana plants and drug trafficking paraphernalia were seized.

The man was arrested and is facing several drug-related charges.

The second suspect, a 20-year-old Brandon man, was arrested and faces assault charges, as well as possessing and concealing a restricted weapon.

Both men will appear in Brandon court at a later date.
