An exhibit at the Winnipeg Art Gallery is having its hours extended due to popularity.

American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell has attracted more than 12,000 visitors since opening six weeks ago, and staff say crowds are growing each week.

Friday has been the busiest day for the exhibit, so the WAG is extending Friday hours until 9 p.m. for the month of May.

“We are very excited to see the enthusiastic response to this exhibition,” said WAG executive director Stephen Borys. “By week five we had surpassed the attendance for our Andy Warhol exhibition by the same time, and the numbers keep growing.”

The exhibition closes on Sunday, May 20.
