The Winnipeg Humane Society is encouraging pet owners to register for the upcoming Fairmont Winnipeg Paws in Motion event on June 24.
The annual fundraiser is the biggest one of the year for the WHS, and money raised helps the shelter fund its spay and neuter program. Last year, more than 6,000 spay and neuter procedures were performed at the WHS.
Teams can register online or in-person at 45 Hurst Way. Individuals can also register, and pledge forms can be picked up at any Safeway location.
“It’s going to be an amazing day full of people, pets, giveaways, entertainment, prizes, and more,” said organizer Sara Smith.
Walkers will assemble at Assiniboine Park’s Lyric Theatre bright and early to begin the walk.
