Winnipeg Harvest honoured 81 recipients over the weekend at the 11th annual Kids Who Care Awards.
Young volunteers were recognized by the food bank for making significant contributions by working at Harvest, as well as collecting funds and food donations.
“We applaud the efforts of these extraordinary youth,” said Kate Brenner, director of development. “Their acts of generosity and commitment to combating Hunger in Manitoba is greatly appreciated by the Harvest team and most importantly by those who received food assistance because of their contributions.”
The Kids Who Care Awards were created in 2001 to recognize the remarkable ways that local youth were contributing to their community through giving their free time or giving up gifts in order to make a difference in the lives of others.
