To go along with its new stadium, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have given themselves a refreshed look.
The football club unveiled Tuesday a brand new logo and helmet design to help the team usher in the 83rd season. The logo takes elements from its retro bold block look and adds updated colours with a navy blue trim.
A new line of merchandise featuring the ‘W’ logo is available now at the Bomber Store and at BlueBombers.com. Fans can also pre-order the new jerseys before they’re released publicly on May 1.
Players attending mini camp, which begins Wednesdays at Canad Inns Stadium, will also be sporting the new look on the field.
Jerry Maslowsky, vice-president of marketing for the Blue Bombers, said the “lightning bolt” element of the logo first introduced in 1995 will remain secondary on some merchandise and signage.
