Aspiring young entrepreneurs will learn how to open a business downtown, take a tour of the city’s downtown spaces and share their ideas with other young business owners today during the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ’s Young Entrepreneurs Take Downtown event.

The day-long event will include the entrepreneur resource expo, a tour of downtown’s vacant spaces, entrepreneur workshops and a young entrepreneurs forum.

Youth participants will post their vision for downtown vacant spaces on “I wish this was…” community boards positioned throughout the downtown.

“Fostering an entrepreneurial spirit with our youth is part of a larger vision of the BIZ in wanting to connect young people and our downtown together,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown BIZ. “We want to see more young people opening businesses downtown.”
