St. Boniface Diocesan High School will greatly benefit from a Future Shop grant to upgrade its dated computer equipment.
The Winnipeg school received $40,000 as part of the Future Generation Tech Lab grant, which will help upgrade both hardware and software.
The school’s computers were unable to handle the demand of courses, such as computer graphics, computer science, desktop publishing, digital film creation and interactive media without freezing or needing to be restarted.
St. Boniface Diocesen was one of 20 Canadian high schools to share in $500,000 worth of grants this year. More than 160 schools from coast-to-coast submitted applications for funding ranging from $10,000 to $50,000.
