Passenger traffic was up 7.9% in the first quarter of 2012 at Winnipeg’s James Richardson International Airport.
The Winnipeg Airports Authority released Q1 results Wednesday, which show that revenue was also up at $23.5 million compared to $20.6 million for the same period in 2011.
“We are pleased that collaboration with our carrier partners resulted in the provision of additional capacity in this market,” said WAA president and CEO Barry Rempel. “This clearly contributed to passenger growth and financial results that were positive. We remain focused on growth opportunities, continuing to develop the airport campus and to be an economic engine for the community we serve.”
Earnings before interest, depreciation and taxes was $12.6 million, an improvement of $1.4 million over 2011’s first quarter.
