More buskers than usual will be vying for the public’s attention this weekend at The Forks.

The annual busker auditions are set for centre court, where potential buskers will have five minutes to impress the audience and judges with their performances. The winning buskers will receive a coveted busk pass to perform year-round at various indoor and outdoor stops throughout The Forks.

“This year we’ve invited some experienced Manitoba musicians to help us judge,” said Andrea Clow, assistant general manager at The Forks. “We are thrilled to have such great performers year after year, and we welcome some “expert” advice with this year’s tight competition.”

The auditions run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today, and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. On Saturday, entertainers will audition from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
