West End residents will do a little spring cleaning on Saturday to beautify their neighbourhood.

From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., volunteers will be picking up garbage, removing tree bands and reporting any bulky waste needing to be picked up.

The cleanup will be held at four locations: 823 Ellice Avenue (DMSMCA office), 430 Langside Street (Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre), 640 Ellice Avenue (West Central Women’s Resource Centre), and 443 Spence Street (Ma Mawi).

Garbage bags, gloves and other tools will be available to volunteers.

Earlier in the day, the West Broadway Development Corporation will be hosting their own cleanup. Volunteers will meet at the Broadway Neighbourhood Centre, 185 Young Street, at 9:30 a.m. The cleanup will last until noon, at which time lunch will be served and entertainment provided for all volunteers.
