Some elective adult surgeries have been rescheduled at the Health Sciences Centre after a power outage on Monday.
Power to the HSC’s Thorlakson Building failed, which also cut power to the general hospital and the Ann Thomas Building at about 10:30 a.m.
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority said diagnostic tests have also been rescheduled as a result of the outage.
Full power has since been restored to the Ann Thomas Building, but the remaining buildings are still running on emergency power. It’s expected full power won’t be restored for several more hours.
Anyone with an appointment for this afternoon who has a question should call the number on their appointment booking to confirm it.
UPDATE: By 4:20 p.m., power was restored to all buildings.
