A London-based online meal take-out and delivery service is expanding its Canadian reach this summer by entering several more local markets, including Winnipeg.
Just-Eat offers diners the ability to place an online order from a number of local restaurants and then have their food delivered. It’s a similar service to Mobile Maitre’d, which already services the Winnipeg area by partnering with several restaurants such as Saffron’s, Tony Roma’s, Lovey’s BBQ & Smokehouse and others.
Just-Eat.ca launched in Denmark in 2001 and delivers more than 100,000 meals daily in 13 countries. The service has been available in Canada since August 2009 and already caters to Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver. This latest expansion will see Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg added to its network.
The company will be expanding elsewhere as well as part of a $64 million funding boost from private investors.
“This investment is great news for the Just-Eat Group,” said David Power, managing director of Just-Eat Canada.
