The executive director of the Winnipeg Art Gallery has been elected to the board of the Canadian Museums Association.
Stephen Borys says it’s an opportune moment for the WAG to increase its participation with the CMA as the museum celebrates its centenary this year.
“The CMA links non-profit galleries, history and art museums, science centres, historic sites, archives, even zoos, right across the country,” Borys said. “Whether large metropolitan or rural community museums, they are all dedicated to preserving and presenting Canada’s cultural heritage.
Borys, who holds teaching posts at the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba, also serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Museum Directors Organization (CAMDO), and is a member of the Association of Art Museum Directors (AAMD).
