The ninth annual Heads Up Dinner and Auction will fundraise for the Manitoba Brain Injury Association (MBIA) on Wednesday, May 30.

The evening’s highlight will be a live auction of signed, professional, game-worn helmets, and other sports memorabilia donated by teams and athletes. A silent auction with WestJet tickets, fine art, bicycles and other items will also be offered.

Speakers will be Dr. Michael West, who will introduce the latest technique of non-invasive brain surgery using the Gamma Knife. Ashleigh Sprange, a U of W graduate and previous scholarship winner, will speak about a medical emergency on a ski hill.

Proceeds from the evening will also be split with the University of Winnipeg Athletic Therapy Students’ Association.

Tickets are $100 each (with a $50 tax receipt provided), and can be ordered by calling (204) 230-0669. Doors open at 6 p.m. at Pangea’s Kitchen inside the U of W’s Riddell Hall.
