A 22-year-old man was killed Tuesday after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 5 that fled the scene.
RCMP say the pedestrian was hit at around 10:40 p.m. one kilometre north of Grandview. Passersby provided aid to the victim — a resident of Valley River First Nation — and contacted RCMP. The man was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police are looking for the driver of the vehicle involved. Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP at (204) 622-5050.
Conditions at the time were rainy and dark.
The victim’s name isn’t being released, but an autopsy is pending.
