A former Olympian on a cross-country run made a brief stop Wednesday at City Hall.
Mike Strange is running the route Terry Fox started more than 30 years ago. The 41-year-old boxer represented Canada three consecutive times at the Olympic games. Strange was welcomed by Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz and a group of elementary school students upon his arrival.
Strange left Thunder Bay nearly three weeks ago, logging an average of 40 kilometres each day.
Money raised from the run will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.
