Assiniboine Park will be rockin’ this summer, as the conservancy on Friday released the lineup for its 2012 Summer Arts and Entertainment Series.
The always popular Movies in the Park are back for another year, as well as weekly musical acts at the Lyric Theatre and jazz in the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden.
“Last summer we saw record crowds at Assiniboine Park and this summer will be better than ever,” said Kevin Hunter, the park’s director of marketing and communications. “The response to Movies in the Park was phenomenal so we’re thrilled to offer a new series this year and our music series keeps attracting more and more people each summer – it’s a great time to be at the Park.”
The public can attend the entertainment for free, which is supported by several sponsors.
Some of the entertainment includes the Winnipeg Pops Orchestra, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Ron Paley Big Band, and others. A complete list of entertainment is available at AssiniboinePark.ca.
