Manitoba’s largest outdoor beach volleyball tournament is returning for an 11th year this summer.
MTS Super-Spike will run from July 20-21 at Maple Grove Rugby Park in south Winnipeg.
The weekend will include the always popular concert series, with the headlining act yet to be announced. More than 7,000 people attended last year, attracting 278 registered teams and raising over $100,000 for the Winnipeg-based National Women’s Volleyball Team.
“Each and every year the event has grown and we expect the same this year for good reason; there is simply no other event like it,” said event general manager Greg Paseshnik. “Combining beach volleyball and live concerts in a festival setting, all in support of a charity cause makes such a unique product that has been the perfect mix for Super-Spike.”
Teams can register to play by visiting SuperSpike.ca. Early bird player registration is $45 per person until June 15. Weekend passes for non-players will be available Friday, May 18 and can be purchased in advance for $20.
The headlining musical act will be revealed on May 14.
