A party 142 years in the making will celebrate the province on Saturday to mark Manitoba Day.
The Manitoba Museum will host festivities all day, including free admission to the museum, Science Gallery and Planetarium.
Festivities will begin at 11 a.m. and include Manitoba-themed events, activities, a new feature community exhibit and more.
“Most people may not know that May 12 is Manitoba Day. As the provincial museum, we want to put Manitoba Day on the map,” said Claudette Leclerc, executive director of the Manitoba Museum. “And in order to accomplish that goal we feel important not only to provide free admission but also to create a true community get-together to celebrate our history, our present and the future of this wonderful Province.”
The celebration will also include a giant Manitoba-themed cake that will shared with all visitors at 3 p.m.
