Winnipeg Harvest will be visited by the UN Special Rapporteur this afternoon for the “Poverty and the Right to Food” workshop.
Olivier De Schutter from the United Nations, Food Matters Manitoba, the North End Community Renewal Corp. and Winnipeg Harvest will discuss, highlight challenges and implement strategies to ensure the right to food for people living with poverty and hunger in Winnipeg and Manitoba.
The workshop will be moderated by John Harvard, the former Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba.
The public can sit in on the discussions from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Winnipeg Harvest, 1085 Winnipeg Avenue.
