RCMP believe alcohol was a factor in a fatal single-vehicle crash just north of Benito, Manitoba on Saturday.
Police say a Chevrolet Aveo was travelling westbound on Highway 83 at about 6:30 a.m. when it lost control entering a curve in the road. The vehicle rolled, coming to a stop on the south shoulder.
A 48-year-old man, one of four adult passengers in the vehicle, was killed in the crash. The 40-year-old woman driving the car was transported by air ambulance to hospital in critical condition. Both the passenger and driver are from Swan River. Three other passengers were treated for minor injuries.
Road and weather conditions at the time of the rollover were reported to be good.
No names will be released and police continue to investigate.
