A three-time national medalist has committed to the University of Winnipeg Wesmen wrestling team for the 2012-13 season.
Kyle Nguyen was a member of the 2011 Canadian National Team (Cadet) and placed 13th at the Cadet World Wrestling Championships held in Szombathely, Hungary.
The 18-year-old was also named the 2011 Canada Cup Champion.
“A product of one of the top developmental programs in the country, Kyle is the complete package,” said head coach Adrian Bruce. “He is a young man that is mature beyond his years and someone that I believe will have a tremendous positive impact on our program for many years to come.
Off the mat, Nguyen helps out in the community working with inner-city children and youth in after school and summer programs in the Vancouver area.
