The Winnipeg Goldeyes have acquired pitcher Alex Jones from the Normal Cornbelters of the Frontier League for a player to be named later.
The 25-year-old played his first two professional seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers organization at the Rookie and Single-A level. Last season with Rookie-level Helena of the Pioneer League, he went 1-2 with a 4.10 ERA in 21 games out of the bullpen.
Jones was drafted by the Brewers in the 27th round (819th overall) in the 2010 MLB amateur draft.
